17:00 - 19:30 (UTC +01:00)
Parliament Square, London, United Kingdom
From hurricanes in the Caribbean to wildfires on Saddleworth Moor, climate change is devastating communities around the world. According to the IPCC, we only have 11 years left to act to limit the worst of the crisis.
We are facing climate breakdown, but our government refuses to acknowledge what is staring them in the face.
Over the last few weeks grassroots action has put climate change on the agenda. From school students striking in more than 50 countries to Extinction Rebellion mobilising thousands in London, politicians are being made to listen.
On Wednesday, MPs will vote on whether to declare a climate emergency. The first step to mitigating the worst impacts of climate change is making the government admit the scale and urgency of the situation. This is our chance to make that happen.
Join us outside Parliament at 5pm on Wednesday and force the government to stop ignoring the crisis.
