Ealing Town Hall, London, United Kingdom
Extinction Rebellion London
At the Gasworks development site, which was imposed on the people of Southall in Ealing by Boris Johnson, Ealing Council
and the Berkeley Homes group, people are growing sick. Many have come down with respiratory conditions similar to asthma.
Some have developed cancer.
We believe this deadly ill health is as a direct consequence of the disturbance of contaminated soil by the developers on
the gasworks site. This will effect not only people people who have lived in Southall for many years, but also people who
are being moved into social housing that is being built on the contaminated land. There is also a school (Blair Peach
Primary School) right on the border of this land.
On Saturday 14th September Extinction Rebellion Ealing and the West London Affinity group (Westlife), in alliance with
Clean Air for Southall and Hayes, will stage a die in outside Ealing town hall to bring attention to the toxic air being
breathed in by the people who live by the Gasworks site in Southall.
Bring gas masks! Bring flags! Make Placards!
This cannot go on. We must have a public inquiry NOW!
