THIS IS AN EMERGENCY
Our planet and future are under threat. Help save life on earth by joining us to #PaintTheStreets, sounding the alarm on the Climate and Ecological Emergency and getting it to the top of the election agenda!
WHAT IS PAINT THE STREETS?
#PaintTheStreets is an ongoing creative campaign, bringing posters, stickers, murals and beautiful artwork to the streets to raise awareness about the climate & ecological emergency.
The challenge is a national flyposting event which will take place from Saturday 30th November 2019 (but let’s go BIG with the Saturday start).
We will hit the streets to #TellTheTruth and encourage our candidates to sign the #ThreeDemandsBill and agree to a Citizens’ Assembly. It’s how we’re gonna get the message out and it’s a low risk of arrest event, which means it’s fun for all the family!
Who? Contact your affinity group, or if you don’t have one your local group / coordinator.
Where? Your local area. This will be a national event coordinated via a Telegram app chat so you’re all connected: https://t.me/joinchat/KDGNQRMbYP6_SJSlRpEQxg
🎨 YOU MUST SOURCE YOUR OWN PASTE, BRUSHES AND BUCKETS. Ask your local group coordinator if the group has some or if there is a budget for it.
🎨 This is how to make wheat paste: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HhMDY7Blblc. You can also buy wallpaper paste.
HOW TO TAKE PART IN THE PAINT THE STREETS CHALLENGE
🎨 UK rebels: Contact your local group coordinator to order your posters, stickers & flyers in time to print them for the challenge and putting up in the days running up to the election.
🎨 London rebels: Collect posters, stickers, etc. from the London office, 10 – 9pm on Friday and 12 – 6pm Saturday.
Step 2: Get your affinity group together and pick an area.
Step 3: Get your gear: buckets, wallpaper paste and brushes, posters, stickers and flyers. Your local group might be able to help with this.
Step 4: Download Telegram app on your phone, join the Paint the Streets Challenge chat and do the challenges when they appear on the 30th November.
Step 5: Photograph / film yourself doing it and post it on social media, and then share your social media post to your group chat. Please check first with people to see if they’re happy to be on camera, particularly their faces which can be used as evidence.
