SE London Rebel Rising: Towards the Common Procession

17 August 2019
11:00 - 12:00 (UTC +01:00)

Cutty Sark, London, United Kingdom

hosted by

Extinction Rebellion Lewisham +

Part of the South East London Rebel Rising

Starting at The Cutty Sark in Greenwich, Extinction Rebellion protesters will walk through Greenwich Village and Greenwich park towards Blackheath Common. Following in the tradition of the Great Uprising of 1380, the chartists and suffragette movements, we will be protesting council and government investment in the fossil fuel industry and its effects on life in the oceans, on the land, and to communities and people in the global south.

Lewisham, Bromley and Greenwich collectively invest £160m of our money in the fossil fuel industry. The Government used £2.6b of our money in tax breaks and subsidies to the same industries. Come and join us in Telling the Truth and demanding change.

Meet at The Cutty Sark at 10am for a 11am start.
