Global Justice Rebellion
Join us and all those who contributed to the Global Justice Rebellion to envision where we go from here!
Sunday 10th November
Location: DIY Space for London
Time: 10am until 4pm
The Global Justice Rebellion centres the issues of global and local inequality, of current and historical power imbalances and of capitalism and colonialism. It is an explicitly anti-racist, anti-imperial, anti-capitalist bloc. Its aim is to begin to build a politics of solidarity and systemic change through critical engagement.
Through a fortnight of workshops, talks and actions delivered by many amazing grassroots groups in the Global Justice Rebellion site during XR’s October Rebellion, we are on this journey. But we want to hear your view, we want to work with, learn from and be shaped by the many individuals and organisations that are already working to challenge the injustices of our broken system.
The Global Justice Rebellion Visioning Day will hold space to explore how we as individuals and organisations can engage with XR and ask…
How can we meaningfully challenge XR’s shortcomings?
How can we repair hurt that it has caused in our movements and communities?
How can we harness the progress it has made in mobilising people to take action whilst addressing the issues around who is mobilised, who isn’t, and why?
And to move forward as a group we will ask…
What is the vision for the Global Justice Rebellion?
What are the aims of Global Justice Rebellion?
In what ways can we make the Global Justice Rebellion as accessible and inclusive as possible?
We will have time to get to know each other, time to hear what’s been done so far, and time to break into working groups to discuss what we can do moving forward, together.
Even if you don’t want to be involved in the work the GJR does next, it would be great to have you in the room to discuss what needs to change and how this could look. All suggestions welcomed.
Lunch will be provided and a creche will be available (if you can, let us know if you’re bringing children).
We are working to ensure that all those interested in participating in the visioning day are able to, please email email@example.com if you require travel expenses to attend.
