Code red for fossil fuel fashion! Extinction Rebellion Fashion Action glue themselves to Selfridges on Oxford Street

On the afternoon of Tuesday 24th August 2021, four members of Extinction Rebellion Fashion Action glued themselves to the front door of Selfridges on Oxford Street. They were wearing a dress inspired by designer Issey Miyake's 'A Piece of Cloth' (APOC) which displayed the messages: 'Fashion is addicted to dirty oil' and 'Code red for fossil fuel fashion'.

COME TO THE TABLE: Extinction Rebellion launches the Impossible Rebellion with giant pink table by Leicester Square

At midday today, a 4 metre high pink table landed at the intersection by Upper St Martins Square and Long Acre, near Leicester Square station, with the words ‘COME TO THE TABLE’ written across it. Once arrived, 4 people emerged from the truck that carried the huge object into the square and climbed onto the table, now preparing to stay for the long haul and occupy the square.

Six pregnant women bare their bumps at Piccadilly Circus, demanding an end to fossil fuels

On the morning of July 31 at Piccadilly Circus, six women stood with their six unborn children in their pregnant bare bellies, demanding an end to fossil fuels. The words ‘My Future’ were printed on their bumps and they held a giant ‘umbilical cord’, connected to a petrol pump and nozzle. Desperate for a cleaner world for their unborn children, they were drawing attention to Extinction Rebellion’s demand for an immediate ban on all new fossil fuel projects.

THIS SUNDAY: Extinction Rebellion join Reparations Rebellion to lock-down Brixton in call for reparations and planet repairs

From 10am on Sunday August 1 Extinction Rebellion will join in support of the Afrikan Emancipation Day Reparations Rebellion Groundings to block Brixton Road from Max Roach Park to Windrush Square. The coalition of groups, including the Stop the Maangamizi: We Charge Genocide/Ecocide Campaign, Afrikan Emancipation Day Reparations March Committee, Extinction Rebellion Internationalist Solidarity Network (XRISN), the youth led Global Majority Vs UK Gov Campaign, as well as other student and youth movements, will occupy the area for the day demanding holistic reparations, including planet repairs.
